Over our last Christmas holiday in Jakarta, we set out an ambitious plan to go out once a day with the kids for a fun activity. Kidzania was on our list, I brought Elliott one morning and we decided to arrive early in order to beat the holiday crowd. We got there at 9:15 and there was already a bit of queuing.
But let’s start with the beginning. Kidzania is a child-size town where kids get to be in charge. It is built as a mini city with a central square and streets lined up with shops. Those are in fact workshops where children can experience real life role-play in a bank, a firestation, a dental clinic, a bakery…
The activities looked fun but I hadn’t anticipated that most of them would only be opened to children above 5 years old. Some activities welcome children who are 3 and above but accompanying adults must stay outside. Elliott did not want to go in on his own and we ended up just walking around.
I’ll probably wait another 1-2 years to try Kidzania again.
