Word of caution: skewers have sharp ends, this activity is best for children 3 years and above and should be closely supervised.
Supplies
- Skewers (which can be found in any supermarket, along with the barbecue supplies)
- Fruits (watermelons, mangoes, banana…)
- Anything else to add on the skewer (marshmallows, pieces of cake cut into square shapes…)
- Cookie cutters, to cut fruits into shapes (optional)
- A plastic knife
Encourage your child to cut the fruits by himself (soft fruits such as banana or watermelon are easier) then let him compose his own fruity stick.
