Elliott is obsessed with the sea so visiting Seaworld was on our must-do list, even if my expectations were quite low. Little did I know, I would enjoy it too!
The aquarium has some interesting features:
- a touchpool area where kids get to touch baby sharks, starfish, big sea turtles…
- an impressive underwater tunnel
- some funny features such as the car and phone booth aquarium
Sure, the place is a bit old and could use an update but it is spacious, clean and air-conditioned. We have been there several times on a weekday and there were few people.
The trip takes about 45min-1hour from central Jakarta and it is totally worth the effort for kids who are interested in marine life.
The place is air-conditioned and stroller friendly and there is a restaurant inside with child-friendly meals available (although we didn’t try).
Note that Jakarta now has two aquariums, the newest one is called Jakarta Aquarium and is located in NeoSoho Mall, more details here.
